Frequently Asked Questions
If you are out of town and require a dress for the upcoming weekend, please make sure to get your order in no later than Wednesday of that week. This allows time for processing, packing and delivery to your desired location. CHCH locals are welcome to arrange try ons or pick ups using our calendar
Select the start date of your rental as the day you’d like your dress to arrive or be available for pickup. We’ll ensure it reaches you by this date.
Yes! We have a beautiful studio located in Casebrook, Christchurch. You can book a try on session with us to try on as many dresses as you like within your booking time. Our try on bookings are 30 minutes long. Please note, we cannot guarantee a dress will be available to try on in our studio due to ongoing rentals. If you wish to try on a specific dress, please let us know ahead of your booking so we can do our very best to accommodate this. We kindly ask that you arrive without fresh tan. Tanning products can potentially damage our dresses, and we want to maintain their pristine condition for all customers.
While we hope our rentals don’t get damaged, we understand accidents can happen. We do our best to repair and/or clean our dresses before we consider a full replacement. Should we need to have repairs or additional dry cleaning done to the dress, you are liable to pay this extra cost. If the dress requires replacement, you will be liable to pay for this. Should you choose to add on a damage waiver to your rental, this may cover the repair and or specialist dry cleaning costs.
Please ensure you are reading our terms & conditions to ensure you understand the rental agreement..
No, the damage waiver is optional however we highly recommend adding this onto your order for peace of mind. By choosing this waiver, you protect yourself from unexpected costs associated with minor damages that may occur during your rental period. However, if you are comfortable with the risk, you are welcome to not take out the damage waiver.
The damage waiver covers any minor repairable damage to the dress that happens during your rental period. Please note, the damage waiver is non-refundable.

Our beautiful home studio is located in Casebook, Christchurch. You will be sent the exact address in the try on booking confirmation email.
No, unfortunately due to tight turnaround times we cannot accommodate postal try ons.
Due to tight turnaround times of our dresses we only offer rural delivery on a case by case basis. These bookings will incur a rural charge due to the additional days required either side of the booking for longer postage wait times. If you would like to enquire about a rural delivery, please email thewedwardrobe@outlook.com
Yes, you are more than welcome to bring a friend with you to your try on appointment.
Should you choose to not try on the dress prior to renting, you accept that if the garment does not ‘fit’ or ‘suit you’ then a refund will not be given. If you are located in Christchurch you are welcome to come into the studio and swap your dress for another - if it costs more than your current dress, you just need to pay the difference, if it is less you will receive a store credit. Please ensure you are reading the garments full rental description prior to renting to avoid this happening.
No. Unfortunately due to tight turnaround times, we cannot ship outside of New Zealand. If you need your rental for an extended tome to go overseas for a wedding, please message us and we may be able to work with you to find something that suits. thewedwardrobe@outlook.com
Late returns will incur a fee of $25 per day. We take late returns very seriously as we do not want to disrupt the next booking of the dress. For any late returns on a public holiday week/weekend the late fee is $30 per day - as these weeks are a lot more pushed for time.
The day after your event please place your rental in the provided resealable zip bag then into the pre-paid courier bag. This pre-paid courier bag must be handed over the counter at your local post shop and not placed into a standard post box. If you put your return package in a standard post box or drop box, we will consider the rental not sent and you may incur a late return fee. This is due to these not being cleared by postal services daily.
Alternatively, you can drop your rental back to our Christchurch studio if you are local.
Please contact us at thewedwardrobe@outlook.com if you wish to pick up your rental from our Christchurch studio. For a last-minute booking you may be able to take the dress home with you after your try on appointment.
